Hey everyone!
I'm just posting really to apologize for the hiatus I've been on. The next couple of months are going to be really busy for me (damn school!), so I just wanted you all to know I haven't abandoned this journal, I just have a lot on my plate.
Also, I have a couple of pending requests right now; I promise those will be completed as soon as I have a free day.
So, I will start posting again, at the latest in the middle of May. I hope all is well!
Just so this isn't text only, here's an icon I made a while back that I haven't posted. Feel free to use!

There were only three participants in the contest; but that's just enough!
The icon I made was inspired by Hotel.
And the winners are (along with their prizes):

As for the layout, right now I only know the Generator style of S1; I can do a lot, but not everything. To get some ideas for different customizations, you can look at the memories of ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) howto. The user info of overridehelp is very helpful with figuring out what kinds of customizations you want with your request.
I also changed my layout if anyone wants to check it out.

I have "Sleeps With Butterflies", "Silent All These Years", and "Black-Dove (January)" layouts tonight.
Instructions for Installing the Layout (Read CAREFULLY!):
1. These layouts are used in the S1 style system using overrides in a language called CSS. You paste the overrides which I will supply in the Modify Journal page.
2. In order to use one of the following layouts, you MUST comment here saying which one you are taking, and you MUST credit her_midnight in your user info.
3. Please do NOT modify the code without my permission.
4. Before pasting the code into the Modify Journal page, you must change all the links from midnightsnack04 to YOUR USER NAME. If you do not, the links on your journals will go to my personal LJ. It can be simply done by pasting the code into Notepad (Start>Run>Type in "Notepad") and pressing ctrl+f (the find command).
5. You must have a website defined in your user info. If you don't, the navigation links
(userinfo/archives/friends) will NOT show up in the journal. Don't ask me why...it's a weird quirk of LJ.
6. The headers provided are currently being uploaded by me at my University website. They might be taken down at anytime, so I suggest you upload it to your own image server (Photobucket, for example) and change the URL in the code.
7. In order for the layout to work, your settings must be like the screenshots I will supply you below.

Also, for all of you that are on my friends list: Since it's wintertime, and I appreciate all of you supporting my work, I thought that I should give back. Since I have more people on my Friend's List than I can give time or money to, I'm going to be holding a small contest to determine three winners for the following prizes:
1. An LJ gift certificate (either $5 or $10, haven't decided yet).
2. A custom LJ layout as well as three icons by me.
3. A trio of icons by me.
So...keep an eye out for that if you'd like to be eligible for the prizes. The contest will be posted as Friend's Only, so only those on my Friends list will be able to participate...but if you friend me from now until I post the contest, you will be eligible to win. The contest will be Tori based.

I decided to try my hand at creating code for S1 Tori Amos layouts because people are always looking for them, and there don't seem to be any out there!

Alright, now that the formalities have been addressed, I've created a "Lust" layout and an "Indian Summer" (Edit: I incorrectly identified the song, nothing has changed except some of the titles so it matches the lyrics from the song that's on the header) layout. They are using headers that I have previously made, but I will continue to make more once I have some more time.

EDIT: I have put all of the code in text boxes, seeing as converting the carrots to partentheses was not very user friendly. All you have to change now are the NAVIGATION LINKS and the link to banner to your own image server. Sorry for the confusion!

I decided to try my hand at Coheed and Cambria icons. I started to make one icon for each song on Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness, and here are what I've started with. I also made a CoCa is Love Banner.
